You know those green things that spring up from the earth? Plants? Yeah, those. I kill them… even the “virtually indestructible” Aloe Vera. I murdered two of those in college. At this very moment there are five plants hanging on for dear life inside the walls I call my home… aka “the chamber of death” for any green living thing. I do have two and a half plants that are doing well, though. I call one of them “half” because his demise is not entirely my fault. Hubby flew his helicopter into it once and chopped a leaf right off. It was a money plant, too. That’s probably a REALLY bad omen…
So, all of my plant killing led us to one decision. We should attempt a garden. Great plan, right? We have a really small yard and it’s home to a decent number of rabbits, so we decided that raised garden beds were the best idea. We built 2 beds, both 4 feet x 6 feet, and then have various pots around the yard as well. We bought a bunch of seeds and planted them on June 3rd. This will be considered our starting day (day 0). Check back often, I’ll be updating you with our garden’s progress. Grow baby, grow!!
Here’s what we planted:
Heirloom Yellow Pear Tomatoes
Peppers (it was a four pack: purple, blushing, orange, red)
Whew! I think that’s it. Forgive me if I forgot something, I’m pooped!! I slacked on blogging we do already have some results! These pictures were taken on June 8th. Only 5 days and our little babies are already growing! Wahoo!
